About Arenastart and our why!

We are the founding team with over 100 years of experience and the drive to create change in the start-up community

We have seen and experienced the challenges in the start-up community, both for start-ups and investors. 9 out of 10 start-ups fail even if the business idea is validated, there is funding, and a team is in place.

Our mission is to create change in the start-up community. We will provide change through proven methods and implementation power so 9 out of 10 start-ups succeed.

Together we will achieve success and we will tell the stories of future successful entrepreneurs

Our story and why we do what we do!

It all started in frustration over so many business owners struggling with go-to-market strategies and becoming successful business owners. According to statistics from Harvard Business School 9 out of 10 start-ups don’t make it.

There was a strong feeling and willingness to do something better and smarter for all start-ups. All of them struggle with basically the same kind of dilemma.

We had some successful traction and started working according to ecosystem principles, joining forces within a business network, where 5 people collaborated and won a public procurement of 400 million Swedish crowns. The idea that there might be another way of creating business opportunities for small business owners was born!

We had also witnessed the backside of entrepreneurship, where many companies not creating enough success to be able to make their business profitable, which in the worst case resulted in bankruptcy or the founder had put all their savings and sometimes they took big private loans to finance the startups first two-three years in business.

I would not be surprised if you looked into the statistics of divorce or even worse mental health problems, you would probably find business owners that didn’t succeed overrepresented.

We have had our share of the experience of businesses that haven’t thrived, for instance when Covid struck and no customers could visit the yoga studio I recently took over. Fortunately, it ended pretty well the business was closed down and the losses were manageable.

But for many business owners, their start-up is closely connected to who they are. They put all their energy and passion into their business. And when a business becomes successful that is a beautiful thing!

It’s about personal development and achieving goals. It’s about chasing dreams. To become successful and to achieve something. That feeling is rewarding and I think if more businesses succeeded, not only would we create businesses that created value for the world, but we would also create more happiness, and founders of companies would thrive as persons, feeling good about themselves, affecting family and people around them.

In the spring of 2022, Marko Gyllenland, gathered 10 people he knew from previous networks and business contacts, stakeholders that could benefit and contribute to a new business, based on ecosystem principles, creating something new on the start-up scene. This became the foundation for Arenastart, which was founded in the summer of 2022.

We wanted to create a supportive ecosystem for all start-ups, helping them to be funded, and connecting them with the right investors and expert advisors.

The journey has just started! We are so happy to contribute to a better world!
